First there was an academy named “Youngshan School” during the Ching Dynasty, a cradle that produced many Ilan’s academic and cultural talents. And after former County Magistrate Yiu Shin Kuun unconditionally donated the funds leftover from his election campaign on March 31, 1990, the Youngshan Culture & Education Foundation came into fruition, carrying on the missions of its predecessor, dedicated to foster talents for Yilan.
